Welcome to the River Idle Benefice!

About Us

We are a Church of England Benefice of five parishes, who are part of one vision and team. Our parishes are all geographically linked by the River Idle, in the Bassetlaw and Bawtry Deanery, which is part of the Diocese of Southwell and Nottingham. We seek to gather as Christ's people, valuing everyone's contribution; growing in our faith, love and service; and going into the world as disciples. We gather to grow and to go. We are committed to worship for all ages and offer a variety of services across our benefice; we also worship together regularly as a benefice.

Our Churches

We have 5 Parishes in our Benefice. Our churches, which are pictured below, are located in Austerfield, Bawtry, Everton, Mattersey and Misson (clicking on one of these links will take you to its church's dedicated website).

Safeguarding

Ensuring that children, young people and vulnerable adults are kept safe whilst in our care is an integral part of our church life. Each of our parishes has a Parish Safeguarding Officer. If you have any safeguarding concerns, please contact the PSO for your parish:

We refer all safeguarding information to the Diocesan Safeguarding Team who can be contacted for advice via email safeguarding@southwell.anglican.org or by phone 01636 817200 or via the website Contact Safeguarding - Diocese of Southwell & Nottingham

More details can be found on our safeguarding page.

Please use the navigation menu at the top of the page to explore our site, find out about our regular and special services, download our notices, read our blog, contact us or donate to one of our churches.
